Significant Event Log
This log is designed to provide a timely snapshot of significant events occurring in Charlotte and the areas of Mecklenburg County that are within the jurisdiction of the CMPD. How do we define a significant event? Typically, we will list suspect apprehensions and crimes of note (i.e., robberies, assaults, homicides), conditions caused by natural events (flooding, roadway icing, road closures, etc.), officer-involved accidents and incidents and other activities that may be of interest to the public.

With this Log and the 911 Calls for Service , you can stay informed about public safety events taking place in your area.

Note: Information in the Log is based on preliminary field reports. Additional investigation often results in changes to these reports. More definitive information is contained in the Crime Report for the particular incident.
